Observing the day and night sky is a human practice, perhaps one of the oldest. Our daily habits are based on the movements of objects in the sky and seasonal changes. Our deepest beliefs are inspired by the sky. Modern Western life has deprived us of the privilege of observing the sky with loved ones and there is no doubt that this has impacted our way of life. The Pehuenche Astronomical Observatory tries to resume this ancestral practice of observing the sky; and to recover the knowledge of the native peoples and their worldview.

A multisensory activity that goes beyond providing data about the Universe. A pleasant atmosphere is generated, fostering a dialogue with the people who participate. Feeling nature, sounds, the breeze and delving into the stories of the sky in different cultures, reviving the human and ancestral custom of sharing the end of the day telling stories under a starry sky.

While we talk about space exploration, time measurement and many other topics, we observe the most beautiful objects in the southern sky with a telescope.

We don’t stop!
